"Parts of" Photo Cards
These cards teach external anatomy the way it was meant to be done. Using a mix of full-color and black-and-
white photography, each part of the whole is clearly isolated
in its natural color while the rest of the subject
recedes into the background in muted shades of gray. Within each packet there is one photo that depicts each
key external anatomical part for that species. For example, in the turtle packet  there is one card showing the
entire turtle in full color and then one card for each of its key parts where only that part of the photo is in full color
(head, tympanum, eyes, nostrils, jaw, neck, carapace, plastron, forelegs, hind legs, clawed feet, and tail).

We worked with a zoologist to be certain we chose the right parts to depict for each species: these parts lay the
groundwork for future discussions of evolution.

This is the ideal way to explore in-depth the classes introduced in the
Natural World/Zoology cards. Later, use
these to introduce the wonderful classification work with our
"Parts of" Definition Cards. Printed in a 3-part
format, each packet contains control cards (3¾” x 4¼”), matching picture cards (3¾” x 3”), and word cards (3¾” x
1¼”) all with
rounded corners. Download our free lesson plans for detailed instructions on how to use these
cards.

Vertebrates "Parts of" Photo Card Set
This set includes one packet for each key vertebrate class: bird (zebra finch), amphibian
(frog), mammal (horse), fish (goldfish), and reptile (turtle). By presenting a key species from
each vertebrate class, you lay the foundation for discussions of evolution. Think of the
conversations you'll have as the child discovers the similarities and differences among
vertebrate classes. Why is it that frog's and turtles have tympanum while mammals have
ears, birds have ear patches, and fish have no ears at all (they have lateral lines instead)?

Includes one packet for each main class of chordates (vertebrates):  Bird, Fish, Frog
(amphibian), Horse (mammal), and Turtle (reptile)...5 packets
Unlaminated:  $58.95
Laminated:  $89.95

Invertebrates "Parts of" Photo Card Set
This set includes one packet for each key invertebrate class: echinoderm (starfish/sea star),
mollusk (snail), crustacean (lobster), arachnid (spider), and insect (butterfly). Five packets all
together.  By presenting a key species from these invertebrate phyla/classes, you lay the
foundation for discussions of evolution. Think of the conversations you'll have as the child
discovers the similarities and differences among invertebrate groups. Why is it that snails
and starfish have tentacles while insects and crustaceans have antennae and arachnids
don't have anything like those at all?
