Once children begin to read, they have a voracious appetite for the written word! Yet, they are often not ready for traditional first
reader books. These 3-part Reading Cards are the perfect next step for the emergent reader. Use these to continue the pattern
of work established with the Phonetic Reading Cards! Children read the words on the separate word cards and match them to
the picture-only cards. Then, they use the control cards (which include the words and pictures) to check their own work.
These packets are also available as vocabulary cards (for the 2-3 year old) and matching cards (for the 3-4 year old). Imagine
the excitement of the emergent reader when s/he gets to work with the words that go with the photos s/he has come to know so
well! Card sizes are as follows: 12 control cards are 3¾” x 4¼”; 12 picture cards are 3¾“ x 3”; and 12 word cards are 3¾” x 1¼”
(36 cards in each packet). We recommend using only 6 subjects at a time. With 12 subjects in each packet, that means you get
