Chinese Definition Cards 定义卡片
Definition Cards let children have fun while they read for meaning. These reading classification cards create a textual puzzle that children
can manipulate as they build each definition. Each Definition Card packet includes the following for each term: Control Card (3 2/3" x 4 1/3");
the Control Card cut into a Word Card (3 2/3" x 3/4") and a Full Definition Card (3 2/3" x 3 3/8"); and the Control Card cut into a Word Card (3
2/3" x 3/4"), a First-half Definition Card (3 2/3" x 1 1/4"), and a Second-half Definition Card (3 2/3" x 2 1/4").

These lay-flat full color booklets put the 3-part cards and definition cards together in book form. Open the book and find the photo on
the left-hand page (where the eye naturally falls first) and the corresponding definition (with the term isolated in red) on the right-hand
page. Sized for children's hands with tight spiral binding specifically used so that the books lay flat when open, allowing children to
work with them freely. The pages are just like our laminated cards; a heavyweight, environmentally-sound paper laminated with a non-
toxic 5 mil laminate. The outer corners are rounded to avoid tactile distractions. This design provides a clean, durable, and inviting
sensory interface. The clear, precise, and relevant text insures that these books will be a true and valued reference throughout the
child's school years. Books are approx. 4¼” x 5¼”.

In Chinese, children are required to memorize thousands of symbols that have no phonetic basis. There is no better
pedagogical tool for this process than 3-Part Reading Cards. Children read the words on the separate word cards and match
them to the picture-only cards. Then, they use the control cards (which include the words and pictures) to check their own work.
Control cards are 3¾” x 4¼”; picture cards are 3¾“ x 3”; and word cards are 3¾” x 1¼”.
