Independent beginning reading is possible with the 3-part card format. Learners layout the photo card, read and match the words to the images, and use the control cards (picture and words on one card) to check their own work.

Start with Phonetic Level 1 for simplest phonetic words (pink series)
Move on to Phonetic Level 2 to add in phonetic consonant blends (blue series)

When they've mastered this, they're ready for Phonogram reading activities.
