Can I customize the Maitri albums?

Question:

I want to use the Maitri albums for my AMI 3-6 training course. Can I change and personalize the text and photos in the albums? Can I write, copy, and paste information into the albums? 

Answer:

These are great questions. First of all, congratulations on enrolling in your course and welcome to the Montessori early childhood club!

The Printable/Viewable PDC files allow you to view and print the albums using secure software, but you cannot edit or personalize the text and photos. For your situation, we have a few recommendations. 

First, check with your trainer to make sure they will accept our albums (AMI trainers often prefer that trainees write their own but that is evolving). They may be presenting slightly different lessons or the same ones in a slightly different way. There is some variability among AMI trainers and there is more than one way to intelligently organize your albums (for example, some trainers include Land and Water pouring lessons in the Practical Life album while others include them in the Cultural Album or a separate Geography Album). 

Next, if you'd like to customize, you could purchase the student version and add in your own photos/illustrations and theory. You can also type up your own pedagogical notes to add to the end of a lesson and simply insert a new page. This is recommended for everyone in every training program; putting things in your own words is always beneficial.

Depending on what your trainer says, you might just want to use our albums as a reference. If so, you might consider purchasing the view-only (most affordable) version. If you'd like to see the pictures and theory, get the instructor's version.
