Sewing Assistant

We are looking for a FULL-TIME SEWING Assistant. Are you crafty? We are growing and need help producing our beautiful aprons, mats, and cloth pouches for children. We need a resourceful, capable, upbeat/cheerful, organized hard worker with great attention to detail (mindfulness), clear vision (able to see tiny details in our materials), excellent sewing/tailoring skills, strong organizational skills, and ability to do light lifting. Experience with a Juki  DNU-1541 (or similar) a plus. The Sewing Assistant may also support the production department in times of high demand. The production support will give the Assistant essential knowledge about our print-based products, production process, quality-focus, and packaging methods/materials.

The Sewing Assistant must learn the patterns used to make our materials and follow them with precision, always with an eye to minimizing scrap and improving quality. Duties include but are not limited to cutting, sewing, and pressing fabric, twill tape, elastic, and notions; using a die cutter; maintaining fabric/notions/materials inventory; maintaining a clean and orderly work space; and, following and updating our production log (online google sheet).

Good housekeeping habits, organization, mindfulness, ability to follow systems, and optimism a must.
