Common Core
These are the equations you need. We can easily come up with workable addition, multiplication, and subtraction equations on the fly, but division? You need to have those prepared ahead of time so you don't end up with remainders. And when we're first introducing division, we can't add in that complexity or we may confuse the heck out of the kids! With these perfect equations, you won't have to rush over and snitch beads. Use these as soon as the children have some experience with short division.
Use your base ten manipulatives to recreate the equation on each equation card. Layout the dividend (the first number in the equation). Then, get one tray for each divisor (one tray for each hundred, one tray for each ten, and one tray for each unit). Then, share the dividend out fairly (so every tray gets the same amount, with the hundred tray getting 100 times more than than the units tray, etc.) to create the quotient.
